The internal product management approach is relatively new and has a great deal to offer IT and product organizations. These teams must move away from finite, tactical project execution toward an outwardly focused and customer-centric approach — applied to internal stakeholders and teams. However, there are unique differences between this role and a traditional product manager, which entail additional skills and a measured approach. This report identifies the differences in skills, orientation, and approach between customer-facing product management and successful internal product management.
