The State Of Enterprise Architecture 2010: Organization, Priorities, And Support

The EA team of 2009 reports high into the IT organization (either to the CIO or senior planning roles beneath the CIO), has broad acceptance and support, and spends about half its time on strategic activities. Teams are engaged with their organizations, but only their infrastructure architectures are reasonably complete — information, integration, security, and application architectures lag, and business architecture is just getting off the ground. The year 2010 will bring increased involvement with application and project portfolio management, with architects aspiring to focus more on strategic issues and help their organizations become more agile.
