Summary

The mobile landscape is changing daily — new devices and more secure device management platforms, easier accessibility to content from multiple devices, evolving mobile Web standards (e.g., HTML5), and the use of YouTube-like video. These technology developments, along with the trend of an on-the-go workforce, will continue to grow as technology continues to advance and more employees work from different offices, from home, and during commuting time. The trend toward shorter learning modules, assessments, and quick access to support information driven by the workers make ubiquitous and transparent mobile access perfect for learning using a Smartphone, an iPad, or other type of handheld device. Although the technology is not all here yet, with fast-moving technology advances, expect mobile to be mainstream for short learning modules within the next year.
