Springboard Research believes the acquisition of Sun Microsystems by Oracle will continue to have a significant impact on the enterprise IT landscape for years to come. For individual IT organizations in Asia Pacific (and elsewhere), we expect Oracle's aggressive moves in this area to alter not only the perception but ultimately the reality of on-premises enterprise software and hardware environments - and potentially these organizations' overall IT strategy.
