Summary

This is a graphical overview highlighting results from Forrester's Workforce Technographics®, US, Canada, And UK Survey, Q3 2009, a survey of 3,904 information workers (iWorkers) at companies with 100 or more employees. Topics examined in the survey include computer and smartphone adoption, collaboration software adoption, and Technology Populism activities such as downloads of Web applications and use of Web services. This report outlines the working environment of iWorkers, as well as the type and brand of devices that they have, collaboration tools they are using to do their jobs, and their methods and rationales for acquiring said tools. Vendor strategists take note: The perception IT and business decision-makers have of their changing workforce's technology desires and productivity needs are shaping purchasing decisions. Having insight into what iWorkers are doing and developing tools accordingly is essential to guiding clients' choices and remaining relevant in this evolving business environment.
