US consumers want post-purchase communication, per Forrester’s April 2023 Consumer Pulse Survey. US online adults say they find it helpful to receive notifications from retailers and brands about delivery updates, order status, and appointments (73%). Additionally, some (53%) wish they had more information about the delivery status or timing of their orders before their purchase arrives. This data snapshot illustrates US online adults’ attitudes on post-purchase communication on delivery updates, curbside instructions, and return information.
