In 2023, US total retail sales reached a record high of $4.8 trillion despite inflationary pressures and high interest rates. By 2029, Forrester expects US total retail sales to reach $6.0 trillion and US online retail sales to reach $1.8 trillion. We expect that US online retail penetration will grow to 29% by 2029.
