New AI regulations, such as the European Union Artificial Intelligence Act (EU AI Act), and emerging AI standards drive companies to focus their AI programs on compliance. But compliance should never be the ultimate goal. Organizations must approach new AI requirements with the deliberate goal to increase trust in AI, while meeting compliance. Even those that don’t have to worry about compliance should still use the EU AI Act to map policies and measures for implementing trustworthy AI. This report guides all organizations in leveraging the EU AI Act to start building the backbone of a trustworthy AI program.
