Summary

Social media marketing spending in the European Union (EU) will continue to rise at a steady but slowing pace over the next five years as social platforms such as FB and Twitter adapt their monetization strategies to match consumers' increasing mobile usage. Social adoption and mobile social usage continue to increase across European countries, although the Southern region is moving quicker than Western and Northern countries. Looking forward, marketing leaders will see growth stabilize around the leading global social platforms, with certain factors, such as the anticipated European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), constraining spend after 2016.
