Matthew Lease is a Professor of Information and Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin, a Distinguished Member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a Senior Member of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), and an Amazon Scholar. Lease is also a faculty founder and leader of Good Systems, UT Austin’s $20M, 8-year Grand Challenge to pioneer responsible AI technologies. Lease is the recipient of three prestigious Early Career awards from US agencies (DARPA, NSF, and IMLS), as well as various research paper awards.
