B2B channel marketing planning is primarily a game of strategy — though skill and chance also play important roles. A best-in-class channel marketing plan serves as a strategic blueprint for channel marketing activities during the coming year. Channel marketers must develop their annual plans by focusing on their function’s defined goals, while taking into consideration the goals and actions of other functions and organizations. In this report, we describe the information required to develop an effective channel marketing plan and list the template elements that should be used to produce the plan itself.
