This report uses data from Forrester’s Security Survey, 2024, to provide benchmarks for four global industries: 1) business services, transportation, and construction; 2) regulated industries including financial services, public sector, education, and health; 3) production, manufacturing, utilities, and telecommunications; and 4) retail, wholesale, entertainment, leisure, and hospitality. It includes benchmarks on breach frequency, cost, and time to remediate. Security and risk leaders can use these benchmarks to defend their security budget, set realistic expectations for breach risk and frequency, and identify deviations from industry averages that may signal gaps in visibility.
