This report uses data from Forrester’s Security Survey, 2025, to provide benchmarks for four global industries: 1) professional, business, technology (including software), or other services; 2) financial services and insurance, government, education, social services, and healthcare; 3) production, manufacturing, utilities, and telecommunications; and 4) retail, wholesale, entertainment, leisure, and hospitality. It includes benchmarks on breach frequency, cost, and time to remediate. Security and risk (S&R) leaders can use these benchmarks to defend their security budget, set realistic expectations for breach risk and frequency, and identify deviations from industry averages that may signal gaps in visibility.
