Composable infrastructure systems (CISes) offer the opportunity to align hardware deployments to the breakneck speed of business technology. However, migrating legacy service workloads into CISes (just like migrating them into public or private clouds) shouldn't be a "lift and shift" affair. Infrastructure and operations (I&O) professionals need to redesign their mindset and operational processes around creating cohesive software models, linking hardware deployments to service design, and automating the entire process.
