Answer engine optimization (AEO) routinely connects seven roles that, until now, interacted inconsistently and tangentially. Going forward, these roles must act in concert to implement content and technical AEO best practices, listen to and amplify customers’ voices, and measure answer engines’ full-funnel impact. The seven roles’ complex interdependence requires a center of excellence (COE) to orchestrate AEO across functions. This tool can be a founding document for that COE by helping marketers define who needs to be involved in AEO, understand how AEO’s stakeholders should connect, and identify skills and process gaps.
