Banks are failing to differentiate, putting them at risk of disintermediation, commoditization, and irrelevancy — which in turn put profits and growth at risk. The good news is consumers trust banks more than other companies when it comes to protecting their data, but the bad news is that trust is still pretty low (fewer than half trust banks on security and privacy). Security and privacy are table stakes, not differentiators, in banking.
