Consumer Interest In Automated Investment Managers Is Growing, But Usage Remains Stagnant

In 2020, 28% of US online adults said they were interested in automated investment managers, an increase from 18% in 2019. The number of consumers who reported using an automated investment manager stayed consistently low at 2%. We see the growing interest in these products, however, as translating to growing adoption; as the products and their managers develop a track record, more consumers will use them. This report provides a snapshot of Forrester’s data on interest in and usage of automated investment managers.
