Summary
Enterprise architecture (EA) remains a vital capability for organizations. Although many architecture teams struggle to maintain visibility and executive support, Forrester’s Modern Technology Operations Surveys from 2022 to 2025 indicate growth for EA. Over this period, enterprise digital and IT professionals who reported that their organization offers “architect” job titles rose from 64% to 76%. Similarly, the percentage of organizations with a dedicated “architecture” operating unit increased from 46% to 69% (and decreased among those reporting that they had the unit in the past but no longer do). The data is therefore consistent with architecture teams solidifying their importance in organizations.
