We saw an increase from 2020 to 2021 in the percentage of respondents who cited initiatives like emerging technologies such as AI, predictive insights, and UBI models. Most notably, in 2021, 23% of respondents ranked applying usage-based insurance (UBI) models to capture additional information about the claim as a top priority, a jump from 13% in 2020.
