Summary

Forrester recently surveyed 129 information and knowledge management (I&KM) professionals with Web content management decision-making or influencer roles to discover their future priorities and plans for Web content management (WCM) deployments. I&KM pros indicated that using WCM to improve customer experiences on externally facing Web sites has become a high priority and that they plan to hire Web/interactive agencies to help with these initiatives. I&KM pros seem conflicted about Web 2.0, with many wanting to source Web 2.0 features from their current WCM vendors, but a significant percentage have no immediate Web 2.0 plans. I&KM pros also revealed that they have rampant dissatisfaction with their current WCM implementations but blame their own poor implementations more than they do their chosen WCM technology.
