AI agents and agentic AI enable autonomous, goal-driven systems that interact with tools, data, and environments; they have strategic business potential to automate complex workflows, lower operating costs, and differentiate customer experiences. While Chinese firms are accelerating their adoption of such systems, AI decision-makers face critical challenges in prioritizing use cases, dealing with complex capability architectures, and navigating the vendor landscape. This report, which analyzes the key drivers and capability architectures of agentic AI in China, provides an overview of early AI agent and agentic AI use cases in major domains and a holistic view of the agentic AI vendor ecosystem.
