Developers and operations professionals take note: Release speeds are increasing, suggesting the influence of DevOps. Looking at Forrester’s release frequency data for 2016, 2018, and 2019, it’s clear that release frequencies are getting faster, with decreases in annual and vendor-locked cadences; today, the most common frequencies are quarterly and semiannual, while daily or faster frequencies are still rare.
