Increasingly modular commerce ecosystems mean that merchants must evaluate and select new commerce technology solutions in terms of how flexible, inexpensive, rapid, and easy (FIRE) they are. They should lean on their vendor and services partners and incrementally transition to the new curated-suite model. They must mitigate the risks of this new architecture by balancing their reliance on integrators and ensuring that security protocols are in place to protect the many “moving parts” that this architecture introduces. This report answers questions about navigating vendor and tech selection and internal change management to use commerce technologies for efficiency, agility, and growth.
