Digital identity technologies enable public and private sector organizations to transform citizen and customer engagement, reduce fraud, and improve security and privacy. Over the past decade, many countries have launched digital identity initiatives that address different use cases. However, these initiatives have often been marred by security or privacy concerns, impeding overall adoption of digital identity technologies. This report outlines the current global state of digital identity initiatives, helping security and risk (S&R) leaders understand the current and future digital identity landscape and how to minimize the risks associated with digital identities.
