Summary
Government employee culture energy lagged behind most other sectors in 2023. There are differences across seniority and energy levels, and between customer-facing employees and their noncustomer-facing peers. We also observed some notable differences in office policies and perceptions across sectors, with hybrid work corresponding to higher culture energy. Government leaders can use this data to benchmark their organization’s culture energy levels, identify similarities with other sectors, and translate culture best practices to the public sector.
