This report presents Forrester’s 2025 analysis of the top emerging technologies in healthcare. We categorize each technology based on its ability to deliver benefits in the short, medium, or long term. Emerging technologies that deliver short-term benefits include generative AI (genAI) for language, IoT security, synthetic data, edge intelligence, and data fabric. Those that deliver medium-term benefits include genAI for visual content, agentic AI, and federated machine learning (FML). Those that deliver longer-term benefits include digital twins and autonomous mobility technologies.
