US consumer optimism toward generative AI (genAI) is growing as the use of genAI tools increases. ChatGPT usage saw a record high in Q1 2025. The implementation of genAI at organizations beyond businesses, such as schools, hospitals, and religious institutions, makes it less of an oddity and more of the norm. Consumers, especially older ones, now see genAI as less of a threat. Moving forward, genAI won’t be the provocative headline that it has been over the past couple of years. Still, skepticism will persist — especially with younger, tech-savvier generations.
