Today, adoption of cloud-based virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) hosted in either a private or public cloud is on par with adoption of managed desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) or on-premises deployments. Among infrastructure decision-makers at companies with 20-plus employees, a recent Forrester survey shows that 68% are adopting VDI in the cloud and 66% are adopting VDI hosted on-premises, indicating that infrastructure decision-makers are increasingly comfortable hosting virtual desktop workloads themselves. This is a snapshot of Forrester’s data on enterprise adoption of cloud-based VDI.
