Monica is a disruptor in the Financial Services market with a strong background that spans across many industries, having developed digital products at the edge of innovation, focusing on payments and banking for more than 15 years. Monica is an accomplished, value driven and visionary Product & Innovation Leader with broad industry experience and 360 degrees product management expertise, leading from the front to challenge, pioneer and galvanise new opportunities, innovative strategies and best practice models to achieve organisational goals.
In 2021 she took the product leadership of Lloyds Banking Group Identity and Authentication platform built to achieve Strong Customer Authentication compliance for one the biggest digital estate in UK Financial Services and to drive a vision of a platform as a service product.
Prior to this role, Monica was heading the New Business Exploration team being responsible to test new scenarios, propositions and approaches to influence the Bank’s future position within the challenges and emerging threats in Financial Services. Her previous experiences have seen Monica leading mobile strategies and propositions in different incumbents in European Financial Services such as Barclaycard, where she led the wearable product with BPay, PosteMobile/PostePay in Italy with their strong presence in the prepaid industry and innovative offers in the mobile payments space and where Monica led one of the first mobile wallets proposition ever commercialised at scale in Europe in 2012.
Monica’s payments journey has begun in PayPal in 2006 where she was driving the Merchant Services and on eBay share of wallet in a period of tremendous growth and transformation for eCommerce.
Monica also invests time and passion in driving diversity in her role as a leader but also with active participation in some of the strongest women’s network in the industry.
