Sep 04, 2025

Summary

Green jobs will grow by 17.9 million, from 66 million to 84 million workers, between 2024 and 2030 across the 14 countries in our forecast. This represents a 4.1% CAGR from 2024 to 2030, significantly faster than the 0.8% growth of the worker population. Almost half of green jobs will be in agriculture and renewables — largely driven by the Chinese and, to a lesser extent, Indian economies. New demand in renewables and electric vehicles will drive new green-economy jobs in Europe, and the US will focus more on increasing energy efficiency and on upgrading power grids. Fourteen percent of US jobs are green or green influenced.
