Predictions 2022: Public Sector

In 2022, the global public sector will take actions that reshape its own operations — and societies at large — in unprecedented ways. Public sector employee and customer experiences will transform as one-third of civil servants become permanent hybrid workers, robotic process automation (RPA) takes over 10% of administrative workload, and more national governments adopt Zero Trust architectures. Economies will become greener as the world sees the first carbon-neutral national government in a developed country. However, anemic government IT will account for a failure to spend 20% of stimulus funds globally. In this report, we explore Forrester’s predictions for the global public sector in 2022.
