Amy Hu

Chief Marketing and Experience Officer, New York Life

Amy Hu has built her career at the intersection of storytelling and systems. She started in performance marketing when the discipline was still being defined, helping to build programmatic capabilities, first party data strategies, and measurement models at companies like H&R Block and New York Life before they became standard practice.

What has driven her throughout is a simple belief: storytelling and measurement are not opposing forces. When done right, they amplify each other.

Now, as Chief Marketing and Experience Officer at New York Life, a Fortune 100 company, she extends that belief across the full customer experience. After building the company’s marketing and measurement foundation, she now leads across digital marketing, product design, UX, and AI experience strategy, bringing those disciplines into a more integrated system.

Her focus is on modernizing both sides of the brand promise at once: how the company earns a customer and how it continues to show up over time.

Her conviction is that creative now must perform in two environments simultaneously, for people and for machines. That brand standards and AI experience standards are no longer separate conversations, but the same system expressed in different ways. And that the long-standing intersection of storytelling and data is entering a new phase, one that is about to get a lot more interesting. She holds a degree in Philosophy and History of Mathematics and Science from St. John’s College.
