Damian Bunyan Chief Information Officer at Uniper. Damian is not a Computer Scientist. He is a business-orientated CIO. He gained his IT know-how whilst serving on the Board of E.ON’s in-house IT company with a heavy focus on delivering a large outsourcing programme. This was followed by three years serving on the Board of E.ON’s Global Commodities business. When E.ON decided to carve out its trading business and generation assets into a new Company, Uniper, Damian was asked to become CIO. This was a unique opportunity, the chance to build a cloud native IT platform from scratch. Today Uniper has one of the Energy Industry’s most modern cloud landscapes, on which many digital use cases are being built. This includes Gen AI, where Uniper has become one of the first European companies to roll out CoPilot to all staff.
