Kristina P. Walter

Chief, DIB Defense, National Security Agency

Current Position: Ms. Kristina Walter is the Chief of Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Cybersecurity in the Cybersecurity Collaboration Center. She leads a team to partner specifically with the DIB to mitigate cyber threats that jeopardize intellectual property and other classified information on DIB networks. This is done through bi-directional information sharing, direct cybersecurity assistance and partnering with DIB service providers. Ms. Walter also served as the Strategist for the Collaboration Center before standing up DIB Defense.

Prior Positions: Ms. Kristina Walter was previously the Senior Strategy Officer on the NSA’s Strategy & Business Case Development (S&BCD) Team.  In this role, she led and managed NSA’s S&BCD Team in executing and evolving the NSA strategy and business case development functions and processes.  This team influenced the development of the tactical details of the strategy, working with imperative and initiative teams to define actions and set measures, targets and milestones in conjunction with accountabilities, and assess performance against implementation plans for monitoring by the NSA Board of Directors.

Ms. Walter was the lead of the Analysis Team within the Programming, Budget and Liaison office in the Business Management and Acquisition (BM&A) Directorate where she led NSA’s Program Build activities to deliver a validated and justified Consolidated Cryptologic Program (CCP) budget to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and Military Intelligence Program (MIP) budget to the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (USDI).

Other previous assignments include the Executive Assistant to the Chief of BM&A as well as other various positions within the Accounting & Financial Services organization of the BM&A Directorate.  Ms. Walter has over 10 years of experience at NSA.

Education:  Ms. Walter is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Logistics & Supply Chain Management.  She also holds a master’s degree in Business Administration.
