Mike Hewitt, as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at DCC and has the accountability for defining, designing, integrating and assurance all of the technology platforms that will securely connect 30 million homes, as the digital spine of a smarter energy system the DCC.

Mike has 30 years experience in enabling digital transformation, leveraged by connectivity. Mike has spent time across Utility, Transportation and Telecommunication Sectors with previous roles in Panasonic (Transport), delivering innovative services as well as building and operating European communications networks.

With a background rich in engineering and information technology, Mike has spent over three decades in the tech industry, honing his skills in both complex system integration, solution development and system architecture.

Before joining DCC Smart Metering, Mike held several key positions in prominent tech companies, enabling digital transformation, leveraged by connectivity. He has been instrumental in driving innovation and technology transformation. His expertise lies in communications networks, infrastructure, IoT, and sustainable energy solutions.

Mike is known for his visionary approach and his commitment to leveraging technology to deliver innovation and is guiding the DCC to be the technology platform for decarbonisation. He is also an advocate for using connectivity and data to help the UK to optimize energy usage and an active participant in various industry forums, where he shares his insights on the future of smart energy technologies.
