In 2020, countries in Latin America were among the fastest-growing e-commerce markets in the world. Overall, e-commerce grew by 55% in the region in local currency terms in 2020. Online spending initially skewed toward essential goods, but other categories also did well as the pandemic progressed. The grocery category grew the fastest across countries in the region, a trend we see continuing in 2021. This report outlines how e-commerce in six markets in Latin America evolved through the pandemic in 2020 as well as the outlook for e-commerce through 2025.
