Hydrasight notes continued demand for business process management suite (BPMS) technologies by business users and ITOs, fueled in part by the growing emphasis on performance improvement and automation in organizations worldwide. While we believe this indicates a growing awareness of the (potential) value of BPMS technologies, we caution IT organizations to tread carefully through industry and vendor hype. Hydrasight believes BPMS vendors have previously failed to deliver on their promise because of product complexities, system interdependencies, and limited capability to address the needs and expectations of business users. As a result, many of the purported benefits of BPMS solutions remain unsubstantiated and unrealized.
