One-off mobile initiatives often start as tactical projects that collect a lot of technical debt. In the aftermath, this leaves business technology (BT) holding the bag in terms of supporting and maintaining custom solutions and redundant applications. To turn mobile initiatives into sustainable programs, enterprise architects must quickly establish a mobile program to transition one-off projects to enterprise imperatives, maximizing project effectiveness while fueling mobile innovation and growth. A mobile center of excellence (MCoE) is a key enabler of an enterprise mobile program. This report provides an overview of how enterprise architecture (EA) pros should establish and charter MCoEs.
