Summary

In connection with a Forrester Wave™ evaluation of eProcurement solutions, Forrester interviewed 38 customers of leading eProcurement vendors to: 1) gain a better understanding of why they chose to implement an eProcurement solution; 2) gauge their feelings about their eProcurement vendors' capabilities; and 3) talk about lessons learned and advice they would offer others considering an eProcurement solution. While most clients are happy with their current vendor, certain areas, such as reporting capabilities for key performance indicators (KPIs), were singled out for improvement across the board. The interviews also revealed some common best practices for a successful implementation, with a focus on a thorough vendor evaluation upfront, clear communication throughout the implementation process, and an effective end user training program in place before the rollout of the solution.
