Summary

CIOs in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) are beginning to examine the impact cloud can have on their businesses. This is the first step in broad market adoption of cloud computing. Before they make the move, CIOs should assess the maturity of the service providers and the overall market — is there healthy competition, do they provide what CIOs need at the right price, and are there other providers to move to should they need to? The levels of market maturity of cloud consulting and implementation services vary, as do the actual infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and software-as-a-service (SaaS) services. Understanding which segments are market-ready will help CIOs plan the transition to the cloud if or when the decision to go is made.
