Summary

A majority of online users believe the national economy will get worse in the next year, which explains the sluggish growth in online spending. Consumers will turn to online sources and discounted retail outlets to find ways to save money. While spending on entertainment and consumer electronics will be curtailed, personal travel will remain relatively inelastic in the troubled economy.
