Summary

The economic recession has turned consumers into savvy bargain hunters. Now more than ever, they are on the lookout for the best deals and lowest prices they can find. Forrester conducted qualitative research with our online consumer community to understand the changes in consumers' behaviors and what they think companies should do to reach this new type of shopper. Consumers have given up or scaled down on going out for entertainment to cut costs. But they haven't given up the experience itself; they create an entertainment environment at home. Overall, the economy has forced consumers to be more careful about how they spend their dollars and re-evaluate their relationships with brands and companies. This report gives deeper insight into how consumers deal with these economically challenging times and how companies can respond best.
