Summary

The community of information workers at large multinational firms (MNCs) who regularly work away from company facilities is growing quickly. As a result, sourcing and vendor management (SVM) professionals need to proactively help IT and the business control escalating user connectivity costs — while at the same time ensuring user productivity — by enabling secure access to enterprise applications running behind the firewall. Our IT clients at large MNCs often tell us that they are struggling to define effective strategies for managing the changing workplace. The proliferation of Internet-connected devices and near ubiquitous availability of broadband access is pushing many companies with widely dispersed international operations to outsource mobility management, including remote access. Many of our MNC clients also have already purchased or plan to purchase mobile telecom expense management (TEM) tools or services, along with mobile device management (MDM) services. This report presents findings of our recent survey of seven global mobility outsourcers.
