Summary

eCommerce in the Latin American markets covered in this forecast (Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina) will continue to enjoy robust growth for years to come. Compound annual growth rates (CAGRs) of online retail spending will approach 20% in each country through 2019, driven primarily by rapidly expanding online buyer populations: In Mexico, where online sales represent less than 1% of total retail spending in 2014, the number of people buying retail goods online will more than double by 2019. Mobile and tablet retail sales will also represent an increasingly large share of the total eCommerce market in each country. While Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina lag behind other emerging markets today in mobile commerce maturity, retail purchases on smartphones and tablets will comprise more than one-third of all online retail sales in each country by 2019.
