Summary

In 2012, the majority of consumers in the US, Asia Pacific, Europe, and Latin America owned a mobile phone. However, the ways in which global consumers use their phone varies across countries. Consumers in the US, China, and Western Europe lead in mobile Internet usage; however, despite lower uptake of the mobile Internet in other countries, mobile Internet penetration has grown steadily in both developed and emerging economies — and has more than doubled in India and Mexico since 2010. This report further examines consumers' mobile behaviors in the US, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America and how they have changed since 2011.
