Summary

Hydrasight believes VMware will maintain its leadership position in server virtualization despite increasing attention and pressure from competitors, primarily Citrix and Microsoft. While adoption will continue to increase during 2009, the majority of implementations will be driven largely by the benefits of improving disaster recovery capabilities, cost reductions, and resource optimization. We foresee 2009-10 will also provide early signs of VMware's lead in developing viable blended cloud/on-premises virtual computing infrastructure for the enterprise.
