Summary

Increasing smartphone penetration and a growing number of mobile workers are making mobility strategies an imperative for Asian enterprises. To capture growing corporate demand for enterprise mobility products and services, vendors — including services providers, device manufacturers, application developers, independent software vendors (ISVs), and middleware companies — must address multiple customer issues. This will include supporting the expanding variety and number of mobile devices organizations use, increasing demand for mobile applications tailored for specific worker needs, and securing the mobile devices and applications environment. Results from Forrester's Q1 2011 Asia Pacific Smartphone Phone Survey highlight the requirement for device manufacturers to include both business and consumer features, ISVs to develop applications focused on specific vertical industries, mobile middleware companies to align solutions with corporate demand, and service providers to proactively engage with customers and use them as a delivery channel for mobility solutions.
