Summary

There has not been as much growth in the voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) market in Western Europe as providers had hoped for. The growth in the number of adults who use VoIP is disappointingly low, with only 2% of Europeans using VoIP for nearly all their calls. Providers need to rethink their tactics. The brutal truth is that the extremely low penetration of VoIP and disappointing growth figures coincide with a rise in the number of people who have stopped using VoIP altogether. Our take: These figures are indicative of poor service provision and deflated expectations.
