Although online retail represented less than 1% of total retail in India in 2014, the influence of the Web on retail is increasing rapidly, especially on organized retail. Forrester forecasts that web-influenced sales will grow at a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 35.5%. The forecast focuses on the importance of omnichannel retailing, especially in categories with a high penetration of organized retail, including apparel, footwear, and consumer electronics.
