Summary

Hydrasight believes on-premises enterprise clouds will become the dominant "replacement" project for aging IT server infrastructure before 2012, where "internal" infrastructure and/or applications are required. Irrespective, we believe many existing on-premises data centers and server consolidation/virtualization solutions will be zealously "pitched" by vendors as on-premises enterprise clouds, whether true or not, through at least 2012. Being able to articulate the components, and differences, of on-premises cloud solutions (relative to traditional on-premises IT infrastructure) will be critical to achieving the expected benefits of enterprise cloud initiatives.
